Adios!

Sunday, July 25th, 2004

Bon Voyage! Adios! Yes, Today I leave. The day may be kind of rushed, so I am writing this post now instead of right before I leave. I hate packing for campouts. I have done it so mawny times, that I can do it very quicklly and mindlessly, which is a bad thing. It seems so easy that I think I am forgetting something, when I really am not. I think I have everything packed, but in the nether regionsk of my mind there is a voice! It is a Soft, whispered voice telling me “THat was too easy! You are forgetting something…But I will not tell you what it is.” Voices like that in your head is enough to drive even the toughest to insanity. MOst years, I have trouble fitting everything in my trunk, but now…everything fits fine…I really must be forgetting something. Now while I sit here, I have two very big problems. I have nothing to write…and I don’t know what I am forgetting….Well..Interesting posts in a week…I promise!

Edit: I feel much better now that I am no longer forgetting my pilllow!

Slot Machine!

Saturday, July 24th, 2004

There were many changes to this Blog in the past two days! As I mentioned, I redid the stylesheet. I also changed the array of heading colors. But it gets better than that. I added a slot machine!!! Whenever any three headings in a row come up with the same color, the message “You Win!” Will be printed in the upper-right hand corner of the page. It can be played only once every minute, which should deter any refreshing monkies out there from pissing off the server. coughtimcough. For some reason the blog rebublishing is remaining at 0%, so I don’t know when the slot machine will actually be up.

Edit: The Slot Machine is up. Many thanks to Tim for the very corny, but oddly addicting Slot Machine Idea.

Seems like it was a busy day today, although I feel as though I did next to nothing, if any of that makes any sense to you in any way at all. I went to drum lesons in the morning. My left hand is all out of it, as usual. The interesting part came when I drove home. I nearly crashed into a telephone pole, but I was the driver, so no harm would have been done to me :-D!I ate a half box of Goldfish for lunch—The same ones that I wrote about yesterday. Nothing happened till around 1530, at which point I went to Stop & Shop and Walmart. I bought 3 pounds of Fusilli to take camping with me. Much more exciting than vermiccelli! I had Raviolli for dinner with freshly made pasta sauce and freshly grated Romano Cheese. I mean it this time, I am going to pack now!!!

Gear and Dick

Friday, July 23rd, 2004

A bunch of Boy Scouts came to my house today to have a troop gear cleaning frenzy. I must say, I am impressed. Stuff actually got done!!! I was stuck cutting ropes and sticking them into polyurethane. I had to cut 3 50′ lengths into 10′ pieces and 1 50′ piece into 2 25′ lengths. Took a while, but I was rewarded with Goldfish afterwards, so It was well worth the effort. I made absolutely no packing progress today. Oh well…A full day and a half left. I spent like the whole day re-style zing this Blog. For some reason, I didn’t use CSS the first time, but now it is all good, though I used more tables than I would have liked.

Looks like I am into multi-Paragraphed posts :-p. I watched a movie tonight. It is called the abandon. It is about a girl who was left by her father at a very young age, which troubled her throughout her life. It is a very good mystery and pretty creepy at sometime. I highly recommend it to anyone who has watched everything else and/or loves mysteries that have odd turns.

My computer is constantly on and gaim is very good with log files, so naturally I have the activities of all of my buddies logged. Dick has not been on aim in the month of july. My event log is fragmented before that, but the last conversation I had with him was on June 22, coincidentally the date of my eagle court, the last time I saw him. I think he dropped off the face of the earth, or died.

I leave Sunday, and I will be taking a notebook with me. Perhaps I will have some interesting posts after spending some time around real people. I am feeling quite tired now. It is actually an hour later than the post time reads. I did other stuff after I opened the page.

My Life

Thursday, July 22nd, 2004

Most people seem to have interesting things to write in online journals. I always thought my life was kind of interesting, but when I try to think of fun things to put here, I get a headache… I suppose I should just continue to write about the day. Same old thing in the morning. I spent it on the internet doing various things. Raviolli for lunch. I can’t go a day without having at least one Italian meal…It isn’t just the Italian blood…It is that Italian food is better—It kicks ass! Swam and kayacked shortly after lunch. The “TAH-MAH-TOES” arrived at the beach shortly after I did. I bet you couldn’t find a stupider group of people. I tried some of that fresca stuff. I never knew anything with 0 calories could be better than shit. Infact, It was pretty good. I engaged in a game of Badminton with my brother and beat him, as usual. The fun part came when I got home. I finally began packing for yawgoog. I can be sooo meticulous about some things. All of the small things have to go in their own section foe the trunk and they must be duct-taped to the sides, as well as separated from the larger stuff by a duct tape divider. I finally realized the flaw I had in my packing all of these years. The second thing everyone does when they arrive on Sunday night is get their sleeping bags out. I have always packed my sleeping bag on the bottom, with my folded clothes on top…I finally realized the error in that. (took me long enough) The trunk is all messed up before Monday morning anyway… I am all that is and will be…Until Next time I get bored.

Google

Thursday, July 22nd, 2004

While most companies just look through resume’s and interview people, Google screens people with math problems.
After solving that problem, you go to http://www.7427466391.com/. There lies a harder problem. Solving that brings you to the Google Lab Jobs page, where you are asked to send them your resume and the answer to the problems. Very interesting anyway…

Handrigan!

Wednesday, July 21st, 2004

Shortly after the last post, I learned how to to a page break in HTML. (like anyone would ever want that…) It is simple CSS (ok, so it isn’t HTML…). The mail merge program works without flaw now!. I added comment code to this template finally. Due to stupitity, it took me a while. I had the </Blogger> Tag in the wrong Place.

I ate at elite today with my grandmother, and I saw Handrigan there… It gets worse… Shortly after I noticed Handrigan, Jeremy appeared on the scene and they both left together. I can’t believe no one told me that they work there. John and I had a big glaring thing, which was pretty freaky. I leave for Yawgoog on sunday. Part of me doesn’t want to go. I have beent there so many times that I could write a script of the whole week and it would be pretty accurate. Going to Yawgoog is sooo sad in a way, because we go at the end of July and it makes me realize that there are only 5 more weeks left of summer Vacation. On a closing note: I hate spongebob. He should die.

Browser Insanity

Tuesday, July 20th, 2004

I guess I am just writing this post because I am pissed off…I spent the last hour trying to tweak the output of a mail merge program I wrote. The program works fine, it takes the list of names, and decides which message to write(1-4, person-specific). The problem is when I print. The text shows up on the screen placed on top of an image I photoshoped, as it is supposed to. The problem is when I go to print…It chops the image up and it gets all messed up. I need to find a way to make the php script make “page breaks” and make sure it isn’t chopping an image in half. Looks like I have plenty to do at Grandma’s tomorrow. Also, I want to try to add the comment functions to this blog, it can’t be too hard, from what I have seen of these Blogger tags.

Initial Post

Tuesday, July 20th, 2004

This is my first post! I spent all day making the template for this blog. It is not nearly complete. I plan to make it a more full featured blog at some point, but it is good for now. God knows why I decided to make an online journal thingy—I don’t! I leave for Yawgoog on Sunday, so I bought lots preparatory stuff today. I spent several hours doing so. Ate lunch at Newport Creamery, then went to Home Depot©, Dicks© (hate that place…) and CVS©. We ended up spending $300 total between my Brother and I. I should be cleaning my room now, but i put it off and worked on this Blog all day…I Originally started it hoping for a Gmail invite, but then somewhere along the line I got hooked, although a Gmail invite would be nice…
